Friday, April 1, 2005
The Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, Dental School, University of Maryland and the Chesapeake Helath Education Program, Inc. are pleased to present...
A mature look at Implant Dentistry: Much of dental implant education is applied to the ǃ?how toǃ? portion of technical procedures. Many use implant restorations as the last alternative to conventional advanced prosthetics. We often find that our restorative treatment plans become overly complex, especially when the need arises to utilize hard and soft tissue regenerative techniques as part of these plans. There is a need to develop applied principles and a philosophy towards implant restorations just as we do with conventional fixed and removable prosthetics, ǃ?The Why.ǃ? Advanced technologies allow us to simplify techniques and to develop a practice focused on prognosis, predictability and simplicity for our services and our patients; ǃ?Single tooth dentistry.ǃ?
Learning Objectives: Integrate modern restorative philosophy.
Examine how implants relate to natural teeth.
Illustrate why implants have clinical, surgical and restorative benefits.
