Hom-Lay Wang, DDS, MSD
Dr. Hom-Lay Wang, Professor and Director of Graduate Periodontics at the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry, received his BDS from Taipei Medical College, Taipei, Taiwan, and his DDS, MSD from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. He is the author or co-author of 12 book chapters/invited reviews and more than 100 scientific articles and multiple abstracts.
Dr. Wang is an active member of numerous dental societies, including the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the American Association for Dental Research. He is a Vice President of the Midwest Society of Periodontology and has served as a Secretary, a member of its Executive Council, program chair, and other advisory positions. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a Fellow and a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a Fellow of American College of Dentists, and is appointed as a visiting professor at Taipei Medical University, Taiwan and as an international vice president as well as a member of Board Directors for the ICOI.
Dr. WangĖs research focuses on the utilization of absorbable collagen membranes or bone morphogenetic proteins in guided tissue/bone regeneration in attempts to repair and/or regenerate various periodontal and implant-related defects. Over the past 15 years, he has given more than 200 lectures at different professional and scientific congresses/courses and universities both in the United States and throughout the world.
