PRINCIPLES OF IMPLANT DENTISTRY

COURSE 0518: HANDS-ON
This lecture and hands-on course will provide a comprehensive overview of the principles of implant dentistry for practicing dentists wanting to incorporate implant dentistry in his/her practice. The morning session is a lecture/discussion format. The afternoon session is active hands-on learning of different implant systems.
Participants will gain the skill and knowledge to:
ǃ¢ Assess patient candidates for implant dentistry
ǃ¢ Diagnosis and perform treatment planning on implant candidates
ǃ¢ Fabricate radiographic and surgical guides
ǃ¢ Define different implant systems
ǃ¢ Use a variety of impression techniques
ǃ¢ Perform a variety of implant restorations
ǃ¢ Define different principles of implant occlusion
ǃ¢ Assess and analyze how treatment planning for implant cases differs from other cases
Dr. Woolsey is a professor and chairman of the UMKC Department of Restorative Dentistry.
Dr. Haj-Ali is an assistant professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the UMKC School of Dentistry.
Dr. Walker is an associate professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the UMKC School of Dentistry.
