Abstract of WO2004066861

The invention relates to a retention device for dental implant suprastructures, which is characterized in that a frame (1) having the shape of a dental arch is disposed on three implants (2, 3, 4) and a frame prosthesis can be placed on top thereof. The aim of the invention is to improve the generic retention device with respect to its adaptability to the anatomical conditions while at the same time guaranteeing a stable anchoring of the denture. According to the invention, each of the three implants (2, 3, 4) is provided with an occlusal mounting post (5) whose end is configured as a spherical head (6). The frame (1) has an exactly fitting support for each of the three spherical heads (6) which is configured as bearing housings (7, 8, 9). The first and second bearing housings (7, 8) are disposed in the two distal frame thirds (1a, 1b) and the third bearing housing (9) is disposed in the center frame third (1c), and atleast the first and second bearing housings (7, 8) have cylindrical bearing surfaces that extend in the longitudinal direction of the frame.
