The Journal of Oral Implantology is the official publication of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. The Journal is published bimonthly by Allen Press, 810 East 10th Street, Lawrence, Kansas 66044-8897, (785) 843-1235. The principal aim of the Journal of Oral Implantology is to bring information of interest to scientists, clinicians, laboratory owners and technicians, manufacturers and educators. The Journal distinguishes itself as the first and oldest journal in the world devoted exclusively to implant dentistry. It was first published in November 1954 as the Journal of Implant Dentistry. Arthur C. Jermyn, DDS was the first editor. Since the very first issue in 1954, scientific and research articles have been based upon original manuscripts published first and exclusively in the Journal. Collectively, these articles comprise the basis for a unique and historical record of the evolution of the AAID and implant dentistry.
