The immediate placement of an implant into an extraction socket along with immediate placement of a temporary crown represents a significant advance in therapy for patients who have lost an upper anterior tooth. This procedure does not interfere with the patientǃÙs lifestyle and provides a functional and esthetically pleasing result that cannot be matched by a temporary removable prosthesis. Given the anxiety that patients feel on loss of a critical, highly visible tooth, they usually have high expectations for both the interim and final results.
