Abstract:
A dental post and method for supporting a tooth replacement on a natural tooth root, has a shank with a first root engagement portion and a second tooth replacement support portion. A non-round flange is on the first portion but is adjacent the second portion. The non-round flange is received in a countersink at the opening of the root canal for precluding relative rotation between the post and the root. One or more flexible flanges extend from one or both of the shank portions and the entire post is made of plastic.
