Dental Implants: Basics and Beyond
Dental Implants: Basics and Beyond
This program presents a basic review of implant therapy. Clinical case presentations of implant surgical placement procedures as well as the implant structures and prosthetic designs are viewed and discussed. A strong emphasis is placed on verbal skills and understanding patient treatment sequence.
The long-term success of dental implants depends upon effective patient self-care and appropriate professional therapies. A review of proper maintenance of implants will be presented, while focusing on products specifically designed for implant care.
While newer implant systems have overcome many factors that contributed to past implant failures, complications still exist. Etiological factors such as peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis are addressed and current treatment interventions discussed.
