The history of the Columbus Dental Society is intertwined with many significant dates in history. In 1896 the Columbus Dental Society was initiated. In that same year the population of Columbus reached 100,000, the largest theater in Columbus was completed - "The Southern," Ohio's governor William McKinley was elected President of the United States and the Royal Society of London had recently conferred a medal on Wilhelm Konrad Roentgen for his discovery of the Roentgen Bay.
