British Endodontic Society (BES)
Endodontology is concerned with the study of the form, function and health of, injuries to, and diseases of the dental pulp and periradicular region, their prevention and treatment. In 1963 a group of enthusiastic practitioners interested in endodontics founded the British Endodontic Society with the aim of improving the quality of endodontics and the level of treatment rendered to the patient.
The British Endodontic Society, with a current membership of over 700 individuals, acts as a powerful voice in the dental profession. The European Society of Endodontology and the British Endodontic Society, having the expertise and professional responsibility necessary to assist the dental profession, have instituted guidelines on the standard of care and current good practice and also offers advice on the training requirements in endodontics. The Society is governed by an elected Council consisting of sixteen members, headed by the President of the Society. The Council works closely alongside other related professional bodies and the General Dental Council.
Membership of the Society is open to all in the dental profession and the Society extends a warm welcome to all its members. As a member of the Society an individual also automatically receives membership of the European Society of Endodontology.
