CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 1, 2005--Body1, Inc and Straumann USA, Inc announced the launch of http://www.Dental1.org (Dental1). Dental1 is a "knowledge community" (or "KnowCo") site for patients seeking information on oral health and the latest technological improvements in dental treatment. The launch of http://www.Dental1.org provides patients with comprehensive resources to expand their awareness of industry-leading oral health technology such as implants. Part of the Body1 network of health awareness sites, Dental1.org will present timely news features, reference material including procedures, self diagnosis, and searchable conditions. Visitors will participate in focused threaded discussion and live chats with oral health care specialists.
This alliance creates an independent, Internet-based channel that Straumann is supporting in order to provide educational information about new medical technologies for tissue regeneration and implants as an option for replacing missing teeth. This sponsored educational program highlights Straumann's recent advances in oral health on behalf of patients and referring dentists.
"Body1 has an outstanding reputation for providing the public education on health and medicine and we are excited about our collaboration through this project. We look forward to raising the public's awareness of dental implants as a standard of care for tooth replacement and the many benefits that implant treatment offers over other conventional methods," said Russ Olsen, President of Straumann USA, Inc. "We are delighted to work with such an important leader in oral technologies for patient care such as Straumann," said Chris Messina, CEO of Body1, Inc. "We believe that they have all the ingredients for advancing the state of art in oral health care - the vision, the people, and the products."
