Australian Society of Implant Dentistry
Australian Society of Implant Dentistry
The Australian Society of Implant Dentistry (NSW Branch) was formed in 1969, with the intention of educating and promoting implant dentistry to general practitioner dentists.
All modalities of implantology are considered. The society has no affiliation with any implant manufacturers, thus ensuring its total impartiality. This ensures that as new modalities and manufacturers appear the Society is free to investigate and embrace them. In turn, the members are exposed to a wide variety of implant methods and materials, with the benefit of a group of like-minded peers with whom to discuss the merits or otherwise of these.
The ASID is affiliated with the Australian Dental Association and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
The Society holds regular dinner meetings with lectures on implant related subjects and produces a Newsletter prior to each meeting. In-surgery observation and training as well as an Intersurgery Reciprocal Assistance Program is available to members. Members can join the" International Congress of Oral Implantologists " (ICOI) at reduced rates and receive the "Journal of Implant Dentistry"- Four per year.
