What are dental implants?
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that replace your own natural teeth. They are made from medically pure space age material, "titanium", and coated with a synthetic bone, "hydroxylapatite". The hydroxylapatite coated titanium results in an implant which is light, strong and attaches directly to the bone and acts as an anchor to provide a solid base for artificial tooth replacement. Implants can secure a full lower or upper denture, a crown for a missing tooth or a bridge for several missing teeth.
Who is a good candidate for dental implants?
Anyone who wants to replace missing teeth; those who are dissatisfied with their present denture; those people who would like to eat better and with more comfort, smile more frequently and feel more secure when they talk and laugh. If you are healthy enough for simple extraction's then there should be no reason why you should not have dental implants.
Who Can Have Dental Implants? Am I too old for dental implants?
Anyone who is dissatisfied with their dentures, who wishes to eat with more comfort, smile more frequently and feel more secure when they talk and laugh. Age is not a deterrent. Anyone healthy enough to undergo routine dentistry or dental extractions is healthy enough to have dental implants placed.
Our oldest patient with dental implants was 88 years and the youngest, 15.
What is the success rate of dental implants?
Fortunately implants do not suffer from tooth decay. However, it is essential for long term success that home care is maintained together with routine visits to the hygienist to carry out cleaning just like real teeth.
How do I choose a dentist that does the highest quality implant at the most economical cost?
Simpler Implants has selected a number of dental health professionals to represent our team of dentists specially trained by Simpler in the placement of Simpler Implants.
