2005 Oregon Dental Conference - April 7-9, 2005 - Portland, Oregon
On behalf of the officers and members of the Oregon Dental Association, I welcome you to the 2005 Oregon Dental Conference. Our 113th annual meeting will be held at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, April 7ǃÏ9. I would like to extend a personal invitation to all dentists, staff, exhibitors, and friends of dentistry to attend this conference.
We are pleased to welcome back our partner groups: the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry, the Oregon Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Oregon State Society of Orthodontists, the Oregon Dental Assistants Association, the Oregon Dental Executives Association, and the Oregon Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. We are also excited to have the Oregon Society of Periodontists joining us. In addition to the members of the Oregon Dental Association, we look forward to seeing ODC attendees from throughout the ADA 11th District. We also know that many OHSU School of Dentistry alumni look forward to attending this event to socialize with classmates and friends. Working Together, the theme of the 2005 ODC, features an outstanding scientific session for the entire dental team. Featured speakers include Dr. Bill Dorfman and Dr. Jeff Okeson on Friday, and Dr. Vince Kokich and Dr. Ross Nash on Saturday.
We will also be offering a variety of workshops. With over 50 speakers, including one-hour courses, there is bound to be something for everyone. WeǃÙre using a new audio-recording company this year, and most courses will be recorded and put on CD-ROMs along with PowerPoint presentations so that you do not miss your favorite speaker.
Not only will the continuing education program be fantastic, but there will be many new activities in the Exhibit Hall. As always, the Exhibit Hall is a one-stop shopping ground with over 200 great exhibitors participating. New to the Exhibit Hall in 2005 will be golf swing analysis, a Mastersǃ٠Caf?© where attendees can watch the popular golf tournament during breaks, and an ODA-member restored Antique Car Show. This is all in addition to old favorites like the Art Show and Internet Caf?©.
Bring your shopping list and support the exhibitors who support the conference ÇƒÏ and ultimately ODA.
To encourage your participation in the Exhibit Hall, inside your registration packet youǃÙll find a card to have punched by exhibitors before you enter it into a daily raffle for some wonderful prizes.
You can register for the conference by mailing or faxing the form in the center pullout section of this booklet
or on-line at www.oregondental.org. If you register by Monday, February 21, 2005, not only will you take advantage of the discounted fee, but your meeting confirmation, name badges, event tickets, and other information will be mailed to you in advance.
Gary and I would also like to invite you to join us at the PresidentǃÙs Party at the DoubleTree Hotel-Lloyd Center on
Friday night. WeǃÙll be dining and dancing to the music of Design until late into the night, courtesy of our friends at The
ODS Companies. Stay at a downtown hotel and join us on Saturday morning for the PresidentǃÙs Sunrise Stride with walking
enthusiast Robert Sweetgall followed by our Second Annual Eye-Opener Breakfast, where Robert will give the keynote
address. What a perfect way to start off a day of courses!
I look forward to seeing you at the 2005 Oregon Dental
Conference, April 8 and 9.
Sincerely,
Janet P. Peterson DMD, PhD
President
