Research Commitment
We at the Implant Clinic believe that it is not only our goal, but our duty as an educational institution to continually search for and attempt to provide significant advancements in the field of implant dentistry through ongoing research efforts. This facility is dedicated to the exploration of both basic and applied research that will refine biomaterials and techniques, thus improving the long-term stability, function and esthetics of dental implants and related prostheses.
Mini-residency in Oral Implant Therapy
The mini-residence in Oral Implant Therapy is an intensive, hands-on course offered by the faculty of the Dental Implant Clinic. The course is an adaptation of the "Synergy Training Program", which was created by a team of implant experts and has been highly successful in training restorative implant dentists throughout the country. The course consists of 75 contact hours of didactic, laboratory, and clinical training.
This course, unlike most extended courses or mini-residencies in implant dentistry, allows the participants to present and treatment plan their own patient cases in conjunction with the course faculty and other participants; assist in surgery on their own patient; and restore their patient's case under the guidance of the course faculty. Participants will have the opportunity to assist and/or observe one another during the restorative phase of treatment in order to increase their contact time with a variety of prosthetic treatment options. Intermixed with the clinical training will be lecture and laboratory sessions dealing with all phases of implant therapy.
Following successful completion of the mini-residency, practitioners may continue to utilize the resources and faculty of the clinic in treating implant patients in order to gain further expertise. This training may be arranged individually with clinic personnel and is on a fee for service basis.
